AFRINYPE, with support from the Africa Europe Foundation (AEF) is undertaking a project dubbed “Bridging Policy and Practice for Sustainable Development in Zimbabwe, Botswana, and Malawi”.
The main objective of this project which commences 12th August 2024 is to create a vibrant network of policy experts who can collectively contribute to shaping policies that promote sustainable development, environmental protection, social justice, and equitable growth in Zimbabwe, Botswana, and Malawi.
By bridging the gap between research, practice, and policymaking, AFRINYPE seeks to enhance the quality and impact of policy decisions in these countries and across the African region. The target audience for this project includes Policy Experts and Researchers, Government Officials and Practitioners, Youth Organisations and Civil Society Partners so as to amplify their impacts and ensure that policies are responsive to the needs of different communities.
Objectives of the project are:
1. Bridge policy and practice for sustainable development in Africa
2. Create a network of policy experts through a hybrid engagement sessions
3. Foster an environment of social justice; promote sustainable development, environmental sustainability & encourage equitable growth.
The project will operate through a combination of virtual and in-person activities which include Policy Dialogues and Webinars, Research Collaborations, Policy Briefs and White Papers as well as Podcasts. The goal is to implement the AEF research programme through a collaborative process that will generate the evidence needed to identify obstacles and opportunities that can strengthen Africa-Europe Partnership. This includes providing evidence that can help implement existing areas of AU-EU commitments and identifying strategic topics which offer the most promise today for win/win partnerships between Africa and Europe.
